Graham’s Wanderue Session: The Science Of Emotions: Creating Calm Amidst Chaos
With a knack for feeding one’s intellectual side, Graham sits at the intersection of Science and Spirituality. Imagine how tough and demanding it can be to go through a PostDoc and a Ph.D. and to become a published first-author in high-impact Science journals. Graham found, in the practice of breathwork and meditation, the ability to walk the path with an undying smile regardless of the circumstances.
Graham Erwin, Ph.D., is a Stanford Cancer Institute Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Genetics at Stanford University. He is a molecular, chemical, and genome biologist elucidating the functional role of repetitive, so-called “junk” DNA sequences. This work is guiding the design of new therapeutics and diagnostics for human disease. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he was a co-inventor of synthetic transcription factors to treat devastating neurodegenerative diseases. The resulting patents formed the basis of Design Therapeutics (San Diego, California). As you can guess, Graham is also a strong advocate for programs that support mental health and psychological thriving. He is a guest lecturer in Wellness Education at Stanford.
During his session, he will share his secrets to managing emotions, maintaining high energy and cultivating psychological resilience in challenging times.
